The most iconic site in Bend is Mirror Pond, created by a slow curve in the Deschutes River, and defining the heart of Downtown Bend.  Adjacent to Mirror Pond is Drake Park, a beautiful riverfront park that boasts picturesque views of classic early 1900s homes, scenic footbridges, and glassy reflections.  In summer, the Park is home to a bustling farmers' market, free weekly music concerts, and many recreational activities.  

Bend is rapidly gaining notoriety for having one of the hottest restaurant scenes in the Pacific Northwest, with most of the activity and creativity centered downtown.  You'll find a wide array of cuisine, from traditional Northwest dishes to Asian fusion to playful Middle Eastern bites -- something for everyone's palate.

Downtown Bend is anchored by the historic Tower Theater, a jewel of Art Deco Moderne style.  Since the economic downturn of the 1980's, Bend's downtown has experienced a dramatic revitalization that has turned it into a thriving business and art community. 

Whether it's winter, summer, spring or fall, Bend's downtown streets are exceptionally beautiful.  Any season is a good time to stroll the flower-lined streets, and meet friends for shopping, coffee, art galleries, book perusing, or a meal.
