2004 Bend Venture Conference
The inaugural Bend Venture Conference, held in October 2004, provided an opportunity for early stage, start-up companies to present their business plans to a wide selection of potential investors.
BVC 2004 provided direct access to a select pre-screened group of high-potential emerging companies and achieved the goals to:
• raise awareness of the excellent early stage business environment in Central Oregon;
• facilitate capital investment in local start-up companies; and
• entice entrepreneurs to relocate their start-up companies to the region.
The daylong event featured keynote speakers Dr. Thomas G. Jones, PhD, Small Business Management Instructor at Clackamas Community College, and Oregon State Treasure Randall Edwards. Eight early stage companies presented their business plans to a panel of venture capitalists from the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland.
