Conference Attendees to Select Fifth Presenting Company at 2007 Bend Venture Conference

August 14, 2007-BEND, OR-  Dozens of early stage companies from across the region will apply to present their business to an audience of angel investors and venture firms at the 2007 Bend Venture Conference, Friday, October 19th from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Tower Theater, located in downtown Bend. Of the applicants only four will be selected by the BVC committee to present.  New to this year’s conference, attendees will have an opportunity to vote a fifth company to contend.

Attendees will watch up to ten non-finalists deliver rapid, minute-long presentations of their business goals. The voter’s choice will move on to the finalist round and present their entrepreneurial plans to an expert panel consisting of seed and early stage venture investors.  The company with the most compelling presentation will receive an investment fund of $100,000 or more.

This fourth annual event continues to provide investors and business leaders a unique forum to learn about emerging investment opportunities. Conference attendees will enjoy a full day of networking, workshops and more. Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is Guy Kawasaki, managing director of Garage Technology Ventures, and early-stage venture capital firm.  Kawasaki is also a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine, and is ranked as one of the top 100 bloggers in the world.
